TeamViewer, a renowned global provider of remote connectivity and workplace digitalization solutions, has announced a significant update to its enterprise connectivity solution, TeamViewer Tensor.
Designed specifically to strengthen information technology (IT) departments in maintaining business-critical devices, TeamViewer Tensor leverages its leading compatibility, security and performance to provide a comprehensive overview of all devices, allowing monitoring , support and access management are enriched.
Highlighted areas of enhancements include improved security, the introduction of new mobile device management capabilities, and a reworked user interface with session links as an alternative to ID and password. These aspects add great importance to the support offered by the software solution to its users.
TeamViewer Tensor provides detailed control to its users by providing options such as Bring Your Own Certificate (BYOC) and pre-approved access sessions on top of its existing conditional access capabilities. The BYOC function allows users to completely control access within their company-wide network by authorizing access only to devices that have a custom certificate installed.
With the new way to initiate connections, enterprises can generate certificate-backed session links, strengthening the increased security around connecting certified devices within their organizations, thus eliminating any potential access due to accidental misconfiguration. Violations can be eliminated.
Conditional access sessions are pre-approved, providing control of ready connections to devices or device groups with fixed time slots and time-outs. These features are available for both outgoing and incoming connections. IT departments, especially those interacting with third parties or customers, can now significantly reduce their workload by pre-defining single sessions in the product without compromising established security guidelines.
Showing increasing affinity towards the needs of larger companies, TeamViewer has added mobile device management capabilities to its remote monitoring and management solution, which comes with Tensor by default. With this new addition, TeamViewer Tensor now provides a holistic, detailed view of the entire IT and operational technology (OT) landscape.
This innovative feature addresses all major operating systems including Android and the iPhone operating system (iOS). This allows centralized rollout of patches, policies, on-and-off-boarding of devices, and even remote backup and wipe of data. The update also sees a complete redesign of the user experience interface as TeamViewer Tensor aims to provide convenience on a larger scale.
Mae Dent, Chief Product and Technology Officer at TeamViewer, says: “We have long defined the standard in remote connectivity and as a result have improved our solution TeamViewer Tensor to meet and exceed enterprise needs in secure and reliable connectivity thereby establishing us as a leading player in this sector.”
“With this important update we continue our focus on enterprise-grade security and improved workflows while providing maximum flexibility, supporting any Internet-connected device, from embedded tablets to restaurant orders to remote locations From digital signage displays to classic IT equipment on the shop floor and from mobile to robots.”
